Detox your life: Social media
Here are a few signs you're on social media too much.
There are some of us out there that live on their phone. I know I do sometimes. Sometimes I feel like I am on my phone way too much that I lose half my day because when I wake up the first thing I do is get my phone and my goodness the time flies. Example; I would get up at 11am and be in bed until like 3pm checking my stuff and or watching all of those videos you see on facebook and on other social media platforms.
Now, let's get to those signs, shall we.
1. Constantly refreshing your social media.
We live in a world of constant updates. You always want to know the latest gossip on everyone and everything. Despite it being irrelevant, we want to know. Constantly I find myself refreshing my all of my social medias within seconds of seeing the latest gossip, thinking that someone posted something new. Most cases yes, but in other cases no. Refrain from refreshing your social media constantly. If it's important your friends would text you or give you a call before they put it out for the world to see.
2. Actually do something instead of obsessing over
As a highly instagram user, I find myself sometimes obsessing over people of the world from all of their adventures and such. A bit of jealously hit's you in the face and all you can do is obsess over them. Well, instead of obsessing why don't you put your phone or laptop away and get out there! Get going! Try what they're doing instead of obsessing and being jealous of them.
3. See what you can do with that time you lost from being on your phone.
So, this will be remotely close to tip number 2. On average we humans be on our phones for about 3-5 hours a day, sometimes even more depending on what you're hooked on. My fiancé is highly addicted to Pokemon Go and can average 8 hours a day on his phone. Call that a bit too much, but its true. He even showed me a daily usage on his phone and I couldn't believe how much time you can be on your phone.
Here's a test. So, how about try not using your phone at all (emergencies only), and see what you can do with that time you would normally spend on your phone. There's a big world out there people, explore it!
I sure hope this can encourage you to take a small detox from social media and enjoy your life to the fullest instead of sheltering yourself at home, burying your eyes on your phone. Take that small detox, even if its a day or even half a day.
